Comment posted How to change firewall settings on Netgear Wireless Router? by The_MuffinMan.

Go to your internet browser and type http://198.168.0.1 this should take you to the Netgear’s router settings. The username should be “admin” and the password will be “password”. I would recommend bookmarking this page for future use. Here you can change any settings you need to. If that didn’t work then you should go to your Windows Firewall settings and change your preferences there. To get there Click on Start>Control Panel>Security>and then once there you should see Windows Firewall in the list. Click on allow a program through Windows Firewall and there you go. That is assuming you have Windows Vista otherwise I can’t help you there. Hope one of those two works.

  • WILL THE NETGEAR FIREWALL WIRELESS ROUTER GIVE YOU WIRELESS?
definitely. make sure that you follow all the directions during setup.
wireless is great and harmless stuff. One tip : make sure you don’t place it to close to a microwave, radio etc as these things can interfere with the signal.
Feel free to come on back if you have problems with setting it up :) Anything that says “wireless router” will do the job. New is best though and any good mid range price router will do the trick.
Oh yeah you DO need to have a modem already connected to the net though :)
  • WILL THE NETGEAR FIREWALL WIRELESS ROUTER GIVE YOU WIRELESS?
Yes – a wireless router or a wireless access point will give you wireless (Wi-Fi) access in your home. But you also need high speed (broadband) Internet from your phone or cable company, which the router will plug into. If the router isn’t connected to the Internet, it will still create a wireless network, but that network won’t have Internet access.
  • WILL THE NETGEAR FIREWALL WIRELESS ROUTER GIVE YOU WIRELESS?
yes but just make sure you follow the set up guide, as my brother thought that it would be smart to just mess around while setting it up so we had to get a computer technician in but it is working completely fine now with 3 wireless computers and 1 xbox live :)
  • WILL THE NETGEAR FIREWALL WIRELESS ROUTER GIVE YOU WIRELESS?
what i’ve found with some of my netgear routers was that i only got good wireless in one room, the room the router is in.. and on and off wireless access in other rooms… u should search some more for good routers.
